Brittany Cartwright of Vanderpump Rules announces her separation from husband Jax Taylor, citing “for the sake of my mental health.”

According to USA Today, Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor, who appeared in seasons 1 through 8 of Vanderpump Rules, have formally announced their split. The devastating news was revealed just a few days after a sneak peek at their next series, The Valley, which centers on couples who are either attempting to conceive or are raising children.

The Valley, a Vanderpump Rules spin-off, is anticipated to center on Brittany and Jax’s parenting of their three-year-old son and maybe their attempts to conceive more kids. On their joint podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, Brittany Cartwright talked about her breakup with Jax amid fan excitement for the return of a highly sought-after cast member. Says she

Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

What caused Brittany Cartwright to decide to split from Jax Taylor, another Vanderpump Rules alum?

Fans have learned some things from Brittany’s podcast admissions, even if she hasn’t given away specifics about why she decided to leave Jax. She said that Jax’s negative impact on her mental state was the main cause of their breakup.

Brittany stated the split was “still very hard to talk about,” so she just touched on it briefly. “On my last podcast, I alluded to how many marriages go through rocky times,” Brittany Cartwright remarked, referring to the times she discussed difficulties in marriages and relationships. She went on,

Yes, marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year

She stated that she’s “taking one day at a time” while discussing her present priorities.

I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz

The turbulent journey of Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor during their relationship

The pair, who have been together for almost five years, has experienced some severe setbacks in the past, including as the alleged infidelity incident involving Jax. Four years ago, there was a rumor that Jax had cheated on Brittany with his coworker Faith Stowers in front of Brittany’s 95-year-old boss, a nurse.

Following that, Britanny Cartwright endured the accusations and even declared her intention to wed Jax on their 2017 spin-off Vanderpump Rules: Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky.

“I just kind of fell into a deep hole, and that happens out here sometimes,” Jax stated after first refuting the accusations. In an interview with US Weekly, he said, “You get sucked into this lifestyle.” Speaking about what may have sent him down the path to notoriety, Jax stated,

I hate to use [my father’s death] as an excuse to pick myself up, [but] I don’t think I would have done it unless something happened, something traumatic needed to happen in my life

His perseverance was what, in Brittany’s opinion, made him whole again. She may have returned to him after giving his father’s passing more thought. She made it clear in her interview with E! when she remarked, “He was very persistent and did not give up.”

Jax Taylor proposed to Brittany Cartwright around a year after his infidelity scandal, and the two were married in 2019. Cruz, their son, was born in April 2021.

Bravo’s debut of The Valley is scheduled for March 19 at 9 p.m. ET. The program will chronicle the lives of Brittany and Jax as they co-parent their kid. Viewers may also expect to see hints of the early problems in their marriage that ultimately led to their separation.
