What should we expect
At 8 p.m. local time, polls close. The majority of the state is on Eastern time; however, the polls close at 9 p.m. Eastern in the few counties that are on Central time. Early in the 2020 primary, the results of the polls were released, and by 4 a.m. Eastern, almost all of the votes had been counted.

Republicans in Michigan will only award 16 of the 55 delegates available depending on the results of the primary on February 27 in order to avoid being penalized for breaking party rules about the timing of the state’s primary election. The allocation of the remaining delegates will take place on March 2 during the party’s state convention.
